Technical - Affairs

The Technical Affairs department is responsible for the preventive as well as reactive maintenance for civil, electrical and mechanical items. It is also responsible for upcoming project developments and any alterations which are to be undertaken as per the University’s requirements. This department directs the activities of the various relevant functions to achieve optimum utilization of resources.  

Department Chart

       1.    Administration & Projects Section:

  • Front Desk for receiving/circulating/dispatching documents & emails.
  • Document/Drawing Control for previous (as-built drawings for civil, electrical & mechanical), current & upcoming projects.
  • Certification of bill payments as per the recommendation of the concerned section in the department -Maintenance of the department staff register for attendance, leaves & work schedule.
  • Maintenance of schedule for reserving Conference Hall & four Lecture Halls for any exam or event.
  • Maintenance of register for materials received from Purchasing & Stores department.

       2.     Civil Section:

  • Allocating the work responsibility to the technicians for carrying out the preventive & reactive maintenance as per schedule on daily basis and supervision of the same by the Engineer in-charge.
  • Attending to any civil-related emergency defects received from the University.
  • Supervision of the landscape maintenance contractor in order to ensure that all landscape areas are maintained as per the contractual agreement.
  • Supervising the cleaning company on a daily basis.
  • Maintenance of all four lecture halls and Conference Hall for any exam or event held by the University or outside organization.
  • Execution of any small civil work or alteration work as per University requirements.

      3.     Electrical Section:

  •  Allocating the work responsibility to the technicians for carrying out the preventive & reactive maintenance as per schedule on daily basis and supervision of the same by the Engineer in-charge.
  • Attending to any electrical faults/defects in the University 24/7.
  • Checking and maintaining all the electrical equipments in order to ensure that there is no disruption to the power supply.
  • Coordinating with DPC regularly for substation maintenance and other key maintenance issues.
  • Providing power supply/connection when required for any additional work as per the University’s requirements.
  • Preparing the electricity consumption charges to be levied on all shops in the campus.

      4.     Mechanical Section:

  • Allocating the work responsibility to the technicians for carrying out the preventive & reactive maintenance as per schedule on daily basis and supervision of the same by the Engineer in-charge.
  • Attending to any faults/defects related to ACs, sewage, water supply, fire hydrant, irrigation etc. in the University.
  • Supervising the AC maintenance contractor for maintenance of all ACs inside the buildings.
  • Preparing the water consumption charges to be levied on all shops in the campus.
