The Community Service and Continuing Education Center at Dhofar University organizes a training course for judicial officers for employees of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources from (17-21 September 2023) presented by Dr. Muhammad Abdullah Al-Shawabkeh and Dr. Ahmed Osama Hosnia from the College of Law at the university, and several axes are presented for discussion, including the general framework of the judicial and administrative police, the duties and powers of ordinary judicial officers, and what are the exceptional powers of judicial officers in case of flagrante delicto, The training course also deals with the specifications and basics that must be possessed by the judicial officer, how to delegate judicial officers and legal problems from practical reality in light of the laws governing the work of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources.

Dr. Hosnia adds, this training course aims to develop the legal faculty of members of the judicial police in the ministry while providing the inspector with the necessary skills to apply the law and keep pace with its developments, and it also works to monitor the practical problems that hinder the work of the ministry’s control officers and provide solutions and recommendations to address legal dilemmas, He added that the methodology of the training course is based on presentation and works to stimulate brainstorming, work during working groups, exchange roles, simulation with legal hypotheses and solve them (what if), as well as interventions and availability of discussion and deliberations by the participating trainees.

Omar Al-Shahri, Director of Community Service and Continuing Education Center at Dhofar University, stressed that this training programs represents a form of cooperation within a series of training programs that work to pump more trainees acquire the capabilities of keeping pace with modern methods that contribute to the flow and development of the performance of the functional tasks of professional cadres in various practical roles.
