DU has a “University Advisory Council”, which includes representatives from external stakeholders such as: industry, employers, government organisations and community. Sheikh Yousuf Bin Alawi Abdullah Al-Ibrahim, Deputy Chairman of the BoT is the Chairperson of the University Advisory Council. The council normally meets twice every year and provides a forum for interaction with industry and community and for their involvement in the planning process for the overall development of the University.

In line with University Advisory Council, DU has established “College Advisory Council” and “Department Advisory Councils” in all Colleges, which also include representatives from external stakeholders such as: industry, employers, government organisations and community. These councils normally meet twice every year and provides a forum for interaction with industry and community and for their involvement in the planning process for the overall development of College and during program review and development of new academic programs.
