“Be a good interlocutor” training programmer

As part of the continuation of the activities of the Student Counseling Centre, the presentation of lectures, training programmers, workshops and mentoring seminars to various members of the University of Dhofar, the Centre held a training programmer for students of the University entitled “Be a Good Interlocutor”. The workshop began on its first day with a detailed explanation of the concept of dialogue and its definition, different types, multiple patterns and great importance as well as the ethics of dialogue. The obstacles to dialogue were addressed and the prophetic methods of dialogue were addressed. Several different examples of dialogue have been presented, with ongoing discussion with students participating in the workshop. Each of them has given their opinions and applied activities have been carried out for students to promote their dialogue techniques. The second day of the workshop was completed on Sunday, May 5, where many aspects of the dialogue were addressed such as the skills of successful dialogue and construction and ways to enhance it among students. In addition to a detailed explanation of the most important features and characteristics of a good and successful interlocutor such as effective listening, clear communication, patience, the need to use body language, choice of appropriate words and other characteristics and attributes to be enjoyed by a good interlocutor. Practical training has been implemented for students to enhance their dialogue capabilities through the use of a role-playing strategy, one of the popular teaching and training methods to enhance learners’ abilities so that each student has a realistic role and interacts with others.

At the conclusion of the workshop, all participants were thanked for their attendance and interaction with the workshop. Prof. Nasser Said Abdelrasheed Director of the Center honoring participants in the training programmer and the presenter of the program was honored.
