Career Services and Alumni Center Joins “Makeen” Programme Panel Discussion
The Career Services and Alumni Center participated in the virtual discussion session organized by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology about its programme “Makeen” which targets training Omani youth for digital certificates. The session highlighted the objectives and phases of the program as well as how students and graduates can enhance their skills and employability.
It is worth mentioning that the initiative aims to train Omani youth, paving the way for new opportunities, and equipping them with the latest digital skills much needed for the labour market. The initiative aims to empower over 10 thousand Omanis with digital skills by 2025.
The Ministry launched the Advanced Digital Certification Program last year under the “Maken” initiative in collaboration with Udacity. The program aims to train 4,200 beneficiaries through three main phases: specialized technical training, self-employment training, and connecting graduates to self-employment platforms.
This initiative is a six-month e-training program aimed at graduates and job seekers to develop their technical skills and prepare them for the labour market.
The training this year will target third-year students with knowledge of information technology.
