Dhofar University Launches the Second Edition of the Summer Academy Program to Enhance Students’ Talents and Develop Their Skills
Dhofar University has inaugurated the “Dhofar University Summer Academy” program under the supervision of the Community Service and Continuing Education Center. This summer program targets school students from grades seven to twelve and runs from July 7 to July 25, 2024. It aligns with the university’s mission in education, learning, scientific research, and community service.
The program aims to enhance the university’s role in discovering and developing students’ talents and abilities by combining education with entertainment. It provides an educational environment designed to impart academic knowledge and refine students’ personal and creative skills. Additionally, it offers students the opportunity to think critically, develop scientific attitudes and inclinations, and raise awareness about the importance of utilizing leisure time positively and productively.
Mr. Omar Al-Shahri, Director of the Community Service and Continuing Education Center, indicated that this summer program, now in its second edition, continues Dhofar University’s vision of implementing the concept of lifelong learning. He provided a detailed explanation of the summer academy’s content, highlighting its comprehensive three-dimensional educational package in English (Cambridge curriculum) covering reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The program also includes information technology fields such as computer usage, basic software, and applications. Additionally, students engage in practical applications within laboratories through workshops in electrical, civil, and chemical engineering.
