Lecture “Positive Thinking Skills”
On Wednesday, February 28, 2024, the Student Counseling Center held a lecture for university students entitled “Positive Thinking Skills”, presented by Dr. Zainab Badawi, a certified lecturer and trainer from the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, and a mental health consultant, family psychological guidance, and behavioral therapies. In it, she spoke about four basic axes for developing Positive thinking skills. Where she talked firstly about positive thinking and negative thinking and the impact of each of them on a person’s behavior towards others and in forming personality traits and changing concepts to live life in a safe and reassuring way.Dr. Zainab also mentioned some of the characteristics of a positive-minded person, such as: he sees a solution to every problem, has dreams to achieve, benefits from events, is close to God and has good faith in him, and a negative-minded person is one of his characteristics, always shaken by events, pessimistic, a lot of blame, and close to the entrances of Satan. She stated that positive thinking is related to improving mental health and enumerated the various skills that positive thinking develops, such as: enhancing professional success, developing personal skills, effective communication, social relationships, improving decision-making and problem-solving skills, and improving team building and teamwork skills.In conclusion, she provided advice to the students on how to build positive thinking habits. The lecture included several activities in which the students participated by presenting some life situations that embody positive thinking and its role in these situations. The students interacted with the lecture, and the students’ questions and inquiries were answered. The Student Counseling Center thanked Dr. Zainab Badawi for this valuable lecture.
