Meeting of the Dean of the College of Law with the Students and Honoring Outstanding Students, Monday, December 25, 2023.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Dean of the college congratulated the new students who joined the college in the fall semester of 2023/2024. He expressed that their desire to join this prestigious institution, the College of Law – the Castle of Knowledge and Beacon of Learning, was admirable. Their enrollment in the college came at a time when Dhofar University had achieved a distinguished position among national and international higher education institutions. It was the first university in the Sultanate of Oman to receive institutional accreditation and international recognition, advancing around 20 places in the Arab rankings.

The Dean also praised the students who excelled and achieved high grades. The college was in the process of honoring them, aiming to motivate them for further excellence and encourage other students to follow their footsteps in achieving academic success. The Dean mentioned that it is necessary to extend gratitude to the professors who played a significant role in this success.

The Dean addressed the student activities, highlighting the participation in the Omani Mock Court Competition organized by the College of Law at Sultan Qaboos University. The mock court team achieved third place, also won two Awards one in the preliminary stages, and the second in the final rounds. The Dean added that preparations were underway for the students to participate in the Arab Mock Court Competition organized by the Association of Law Colleges in Arab Universities.

Furthermore, the Dean mentioned that students are actively involved in the media and preparatory committee for the “Environmental ” conference organized by the college from May 22-23, 2024. They are also participating in the media and preparatory committee for the “Artificial Intelligence” conference organized by the college from May 27-29, 2024.

The students’ opinions and suggestions regarding student activities and other related matters were heard during the meeting. In conclusion, the Dean announced that the college would hold a ceremony to honor the students of the Law Group and all students who participated and will participate in various activities.

At the end of the ceremony, outstanding students from the Bachelor of Law and Master in Public Law and Master In Private Law were honored.
