Ooredoo and ZTE Corporation establish 5G Innovation Centre for Dhofar University
Dhofar University partnered with Ooredoo & ZTE, a global leading provider of information and communication technology solution to establish a cutting-edge 5G Innovation Center (5GIC). Transforming how young students learn and share knowledge, Dhofar University The smart and next-gen 5G campus will be located at Dhofar University’s Faculty of Engineering and will drive innovation and continuous learning, shaping a brighter future for all stakeholders in Oman. Meanwhile, the name of the tripartite university-industry partnership will be the ‘Dhofar University – Ooredoo – ZTE 5G Innovation Lab Project’.
Professor Amer Al Rawas, Dhofar University (DU) Vice Chancellor, said, “We are excited that a 5G Innovation Center will be established at our campus. This center will serve as a national hub for education, research and training, empowering students, faculty, and professionals to explore the full potential of cutting-edge 5G technologies and related Internet of Things (IoT). This initiative aligns with DU’s commitment to academic excellence by integrating the latest technological advancement in our curriculum to help equip graduates hone their practical skills and be ready to contribute to the development of our beloved nation in line with Oman Vision 2040.”
