Orientation Day: A New Chapter Begins at Dhofar University’s College of Engineering

On 23rd September 2024, Dhofar University’s College of Engineering held an orientation day for new students across its academic programmes. The Dean, Dr Issam Bait Bahdoor, welcomed students, outlining the College’s vision, mission, and values, emphasising key qualities students should develop for future success. Assistant Dean, Dr El Manaa Barhoumi, introduced the College’s modern facilities, such as advanced labs, the library, the Student Counselling Centre, and the Learning Support Center. He highlighted the importance of following the academic plan, maintaining academic integrity, and understanding student rights, as well as the role of the academic advisor. Assistant Dean of Admissions and Registration, Dr Wissam Bait Al-Mal, alongside faculty members and a Student Counselling Centre representative, addressed student queries. The orientation aimed to prepare students to fully utilise the academic resources available, stressing the significance of academic integrity in their studies. This initiative reflects Dhofar University’s dedication to delivering a comprehensive education that empowers students and supports their academic journey.
