About CTL

Welcome to the Centre for Teaching and Learning at DU

The Center of Teaching and Learning (CTL) is a Center within Dhofar University, which is meant
to provide professional development service to the faculty members of the university and the
community at large.
CTL was established in 2008 to provide a variety of teaching and research resources and services
for faculty throughout the university. The Center organizes and conducts professional development
workshops; organizes research and book discussion groups and forums; and provides electronic
resources and useful tips on conducting effective teaching, research, and community service
activities.

What does CTL do?
• Promote professional development and training at Dhofar University
• Provide need-based professional development services and consultancies
• Coordinate and administer all in-service faculty training workshops at Dhofar University
• Organize Professional Development and Educational Practice Seminars at Dhofar
University
• Promote the culture of community service among faculty members at DU.

Vision
The CTL aspires to play a leading role in promoting the best teaching, research and community
service practices at DU.

Mission
The CTL’s mission is to provide active support and relevant opportunities to faculty members,
students and the community for developing, strengthening and sustaining best teaching, research
and community service practices.

Objective
The main objective of CTL is to plan, organize, conduct need-based professional development
workshops, training sessions, and talks in the areas of teaching, research, and community service
for the benefit of the faculty members, staff, students, and the community.
