Petroleum Development Oman (PDO ) at Dhofar University

On the twenty-fourth of September 2023, Dhofar University received a delegation from Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), which included Sulaiman Al Kindi, Head of Community Service Department at the company, Abdulaziz Al-Sawafi and Fatima Al-Bahrani, community service specialists at the company, where they met with Dr. Tariq Al-Hosary, Dean of Admission, Registration and Student Affairs at the university, in the presence of Ms. Muna Saeed Al-Zawamari, Deputy Director of the Admission and Registration Department, and Mr. Muammar Bahajaj, Head of the Scholarships and Grants section. Then the delegation met with the students on scholarships to the university at the expense of the company, where they discussed with them the challenges they face, the mechanism of housing in the specializations available within the programs allocated to them, and the possibility of raising the privileges allocated to students by the company as students of areas of excellence.

The delegation also discussed during the meeting with the Vice Chancellor of the University in the presence of the Deputy Vice Chancellor, the Dean of Admission, Registration and Student Affairs and the Director of the Center for Community Service and Continuing Education aspects of cooperation between the two sides and work to develop it through holding programs and courses held by the university and sponsored by the company in an effort by both sides to serve the community.

PDO’s scholarships are under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation and fully funded by PDO.
