Report of Tennis Competition at Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture & Entertainment

Dhofar University Lawn Tennis Tournament was held between March 27 to April 3 at the Sultan Qaboos Complex for Youth, Culture, and Entertainment bringing together 9 participants (students and faculty members). The limited number of players was attributed to the lack of popularity of this sport on Campus. The players who reached the final included Said Al Mashali, a student from CCBA, Dr. Paul Okonkwo, Abdulaziz Kashoob, and Omar Frazkhan from the College of Engineering. The semi-final match was full of energy and determination of the players to win, bringing together players Abdulaziz Al Shashai and Omar Frazkhan from the College of Engineering. The match lasted two hours and 3 equal rounds, and ended with Omar Frazkhan prevailing 7/5/4/6/6/4 to reach the final singles to meet Said Al Mashali in a match which ended with Said Al Mashali winning two clean sets 6/2/6/3. In the doubles category, Omar Farazkhan/Abdulaziz Kashoob from the College of Engineering and Said Al Mashali/Hazza Al-Markhabi from the CCBA moving to the final. The match ended with the victory of Dr. Omar Faraz Khan and student Abdulaziz Kashoob of the College of Engineering.
