Strengthening International Ties: Visit from University Malaya

Dhofar University recently hosted the visit of Dr. Adeeb Hayyan from University Malaya (UM), Malaysia’s oldest and most prestigious public research university. Dr. Adeeb Hayyan was warmly received by our Vice Chancellor, Professor Amer Al Rawas. UM and DU explored potential areas for collaboration, including student and faculty exchanges, and research partnerships. Dr. Hayyan’s visit centered around exploring collaborative opportunities with our College of Engineering. He engaged in fruitful discussions with Dr. Issam Mahfoodh Bait Bahdoor, the Dean of the College of Engineering, and Dr. El Manaa, the Deputy Dean, focusing on ways to enhance our academic and research endeavors. University Malaya, established in 1905, holds a respected position in global academia. UM is ranked #65 in the QS World University Rankings 2024. UM is the top university in Malaysia and ranks third among ASEAN universities in the QS World University Rankings. It is renowned for its strong international network, employer reputation, and academic excellence. The visit opens new avenues for cooperation that will benefit both institutions by enhancing educational experiences and expanding research capacities.
