Talk on Charisma for Employability
Dhofar University Centre for Career Services and Alumni organized a talk entitled “Charisma in Job Interviews” to enable students to have basic skills that enhance their confidence and attractiveness in job interviews, as part of its efforts to improve the professional skills of final-year students and graduates.
The talk was made by Dr. Mosleh Almajali, Associate Professor of Psychological and Educational Counselling at the College of Arts and Applied Sciences, who addressed the concept of charisma and its importance in the success of job interviews. The talk focused on crucial elements such as positive first impressions, the importance of eye contact, the effective use of body language, and the ability to articulate ideas effectively.
The speaker also provided significant steps to improve effective communication skills, and interview-related stress management skills, besides tips on how to handle challenging and normal questions. The speaker also shared strategies that enable each student or graduate to reflect character strong traits.
The talk was interactive and offered students the opportunity to engage in hands-on training sessions for sharing ideas and negotiating views, and opinions. It is worth mentioning that this talk is part of a series of activities organized by the Centre to enhance students’ preparedness for the job market and increase their employability in various sectors.
