Writing is considered a difficult skill that requires experience, exposure,
patience, and hard work. These difficulties are magnified when writing
in a non-native language. Our students, though full of ideas, struggle
to articulate these ideas into readable text in English. It often happens
that they approach me, asking to write about a particular topic that they
are passionate about in Arabic. I usually explain to them that our goal is
to encourage them to write in English to improve their language skills.
Some of them give up on having their voice heard and never come back.
A few others try and may write several drafts. These students gain a rich
language-learning experience that lasts a lifetime.
Our current issue has a variety of interesting topics written by hardworking
students that deserve to be read and encouraged.
