An hour had passed and Fadi started to worry about his friend. He
tried sending a text to Nadir but the message failed to be send; the
phone struggled to find a connection.
A moment or two later he heard two gunshots not too far away from
where he was. Fadi locked the car in an attempt to stay safe as the
sky was getting darker. He then caught voices of what seemed to be
a commotion where policemen and people were gathering around an
area with sirens blasting from an ambulance.
He thought he could ask the officers if it was possible for him to make
a phone call using their mobile.
As he approach the scene, he saw a familiar objects of which were
Nadir‘s favorite keychain; his favorite mini gardening shovel and
phone laid out on the ground. Fadi’s eyebrows met, a confused
expression painted on his face. The boy’s eyes widened at what he
saw next, a dead body wrapped in his friend’s jacket and his best
friend lying unconscious next to it. He moved towards his friend, not
caring about the cops trying to stop him.
“Nadir? wake up, you promised we’d stay friends forever. NADIR!!”,
Fadi yelled, tears streaming down his face.
He moved to the body next to Nadir’s, wondering if that was the
