I was accepted at Dhofar University in 2017 with a paid government
scholarship. It was my first step in a life of self-reliance. In there, I went
through good days and bad days. At first, I was not happy with my major (Bachelor
of English Language Arts). I thought that this major was not suitable for me. I wanted to
study Mathematics. Unfortunately, my scholarship was not transferred to this major, so I had
to accept my fate. My first struggle was to strive in the specialization and excel in it.
I started studying the foundation program. I was fortunate to skip level one by passing a
challenge test. This accomplishment gave me a boost of energy. It prompted me to do better and greater
achievements, so I decided to become more active. I made sure I participated in the activities of the open day.
I gained three certificates by doing so. I also got second place twice in a writing competition and third place in a
speaking one. In addition, I wrote an article in our FP Chronicle. It was then that I realized that with some effort, I
could succeed. The minor achievements were not enough for me. I wanted to prove myself more.
