In a small, dark, soulless room, I sit turbulent and sad without realizing I T
am wasting time and that I have to get up right away. U

I lived happy days full of optimism. I was the spoiled child and the only E
one in my family for a while until I had a brother whom I loved very N
much. T
I started writing at a young age. My father bought me books in Arabic S
and English and asked me about them at the end of the week. From W
here I started sailing my little boat in this long river we call “life”. R
I was so excited at first to go to school, but that didn’t last long. I

Despite my troubling behavior, I had a teacher who discovered one I
day that I loved reading and writing, she told me something that I will N
never forget in my life: G
S
“I know that you write and read better than me and I am sure
S
that one day you will be something” T
U
I thought about her words and wondered a lot at the time, could I be D
something important in the future? Since that day, I have become more
E
interested in writing. My life changed with these simple words. I even N
won a big writing competition, Sheikh Rashid’s writing competition in T
Abu Dhabi. S
However, I met a friend, who was a neighbor. She became close to me. W
I got attached to her a lot. We never parted, and so I neglected writing. R
Everything I did, I wanted it to be with her. But everything comes to an I
end… T
