The experiences of students with disabilities
at CAAS are marked by resilience and
ambition. Saeed Al-Shahri, a student in the
Department of Arabic Language and
Literature with a physical disability, is
determined to achieve his dreams in Arabic
studies despite the obstacles he faces. He
states, "The university and my college have
greatly supported me with transportation and
tools that facilitate my studies, and we look
forward to further advancements in the
future."
In a similar vein, Haitham Al-Amri, a
hearing-impaired graduate from the
Computer Science Department, reflects on
his journey in Oman’s only program of its kind.
He highlights CAAS’s e orts in providing sign
language specialists and training instructors,
as well as the university’s gradual introduction
of essential assistive devices that support
students in their lectures.
