INTERNAL RESEARCH GRANT
The DR is supported by Research committees at University and College level for
dissemination of Internal Research Grants. DU supports supports research activities in DU
through the following funding schemes:
Conference Grant (CG): to cover trips to regional and international conferences and
scientific events.
Seed Grant (SG): to help new faculties start up their research at DU in specific areas of
interest to Oman through purchasing of materials and equipment required to initiate
research activities (Currently frozen to focus on BFP).
Research Publication Incentives (RPI): An award for research productivity for faculty
members who have published a paper in a journal indexed in Scopus, Web of science
(with Impact Factor(IF)) or TRC approved list of Arabic Journals for Humanities and Law
(AJHL).
As the world was hit by global pandemic during the mid of AY 2019-20, the conference grants
were frozen considering the instructions of National Higher Committee for combating Co rona
in March 2020 due to travel restrictions. However, to facilitate faculty members the
applications for incentives for publishing papers in Scopus, Web of Science or AJHL was
extended till August 2020 instead of April.
During the Fall 2019-20, 11 applications for the CG were

approved along with 16 applications for RPI for papers

for Law & Humanities. Moreover, 3 applications for the
distribution of questionnaire were approved.
During the Spring 2019-20, 11 out of 21 faculty members
received CG who refunded the amount during the month
of March due to travel restrictions. However, 23
applications for RPI for papers published in Web of
Science, Scopus and Arabic Journals for Law & Humanities
were approved. Moreover, 3 applications for the
distribution of questionnaire were approved.
As the deadline for receiving applications for RPI was

extended until August, 2020 to facilitate faculty members

amid corona, 25 applications for RPI were processed. the
total utilized budget for grants during AY 2019-20 was
