6. College of Commerce and Business Administration



             6.1.  Introduction
             CCBA  is  one  of  the  three  Colleges,  which  started  functioning  since  the  inception  of  Dhofar
             University in 2004. It offers program in the area of business management and caters to the need
             of business education for the local community and the country. It is modeled after the American
             educational system and its programs are benchmarked with international universities. At present,

             CCBA is undergoing accreditation with “Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business”
             (AACSB) from America.

             6.2.  Organizational Structure
             CCBA is headed by a Dean overseeing the following Five (5) Departments:

                1)  Department of Accounting
                2)  Department of Finance and Economics

                3)  Department of Management
                4)  Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship
                5)  Department of Management Information Systems


             6.3.  Vision
             The College of Commerce and Business Administration at Dhofar University aspires to acquire a
             distinguished place among national, regional and international business educational institutions.

             6.4.  Mission

             To provide quality business education with a global perspective in an open learning environment,
             fostering  research  and  community  outreach  and  nurturing  leaders  who  are  capable  of
             contributing to Omani society and beyond.

             6.5.  Academic Programs Offered
             The College offers five (5) Diploma, six (6) Bachelor and two (3) Graduate (Master) Programs.
             Diploma and Bachelor students may join for the morning (regular) or the evening program (but
             not  both).  The  medium  of  instruction  in  all  programs  is  English  except  for  Master  of  Art  in
             Management and Master of Science in Accounting program wherein it is Arabic.

             These programs are:

             a)  Diploma Programs
                1)  Business Administration - Accounting

                2)  Business Administration - Finance
                3)  Business Administration - Management

                4)  Business Administration - Marketing
                5)  Business Administration - Management Information Systems (MIS)

             b)  Bachelor Programs
