8. College of Law
8.1. Introduction
College of Law (CL) was established in the academic year 2018-19. The University started offering
Bachelor of Law program since 2012-13 as a program under CAAS. The College seeks in its
curricula to assist students in practicing law, and to provide students with a comprehensive
education that will help them get all necessary skills to improve their abilities.
8.2. Organizational Structure
The CL is headed by a Dean overseeing the following Two (2) Departments:
1) Department of Private Law
2) Department of Public Law
8.3. Vision
College of Law aspires to occupy a recognized position among the institutions of quality higher
education in Law.
8.4. Mission
The CL aims to provide an education in Law that is in line with quality standards that are followed
by all other Law Colleges in the world. Also, to exchange knowledge with all legal authorities to
produce a generation of lawyers who are ready to serve the Omani Community.
8.5. Academic Programs Offered
The College offers one (1) Bachelor and one (1) Graduate (Master) Program. The medium of
instruction in all these programs is Arabic.
These programs are:
a) Bachelor Programs
1) Bachelor of Law
b) Master Programs
1) Master of Law :
I) Private Law
II) Public Law

8.6. Graduation Requirements
To receive a Bachelor Degree in Law in the CL, a student must satisfactorily complete the
required credit hours for his/her major with a minimum overall CGPA of 65 percent and a
minimum CMGPA of 70.
