Dahariz Beach Trip
ِA Short Story by
Noor Ahmed Hassan Kashoob-Alumni
At five o’clock in the morning all the alarm clocks in people’s houses
usually start to ring, except this house because they have something better
than alarm clocks. Their mother’s vocal cords. If you hear them, you will
jump up like a monkey from your bed - even if you are the laziest, most
careless person ever! The twins, Susan and Sarah, who are one year older
than their sister May, started the day with a fight over which one will use
the bathroom.
The energetic May, who is twenty, woke up earlier before her sister, woke
up her younger brother Sami, and prepared her bed. May went down and
prayed with her parents. The others came and prayed with their little brother
Sami. After praying, all went to the breakfast table at six o’clock and Sarah
went upstairs to her room.
The father, Salah, was in a rush. He wanted to go to the bunkhouse that
everyone wants to sit at, which was on Dahariz Beach. He yelled and said,
“Kids hurry up! We need to go early!” After that, Mazoon, his wife, asked
him, “Are we going on one of your boring trips?” Salah just laughed and
said, “This time it will be a cozy beach trip”
