CLUB’S MOST RECENT EVENT

The Korean club organizes events several times per semester. This was

our first event that included making authentic Korean food for others (live

cooking). The Korean club’s team arranged the activities and invited special

guests to attend the event. It was separated into two different happenings:

Korean Language class & getting to know Korea through others and

exploring the Korean cuisine. The events taking place at 12:30-2pm and

3-4:35pm respectively. Some volunteers also helped in handing out the

food plates.

The first event started at 12:30 pm and ended at about 2 pm in Hall 1. The

event began with a Korean language class led by Dr. Hayoun Eun. There

were prizes that consisted of Korean souvenirs to encourage the students

to participate. In the class, we focused on common Korean phrases and

distributed worksheets to the students with Arabic translations under each

phrase. Students learned how to correctly pronounce words and letters in

Korean. We also invited professors from the college of engineering in DU

who have lived in South Korea while completing their postgraduate degrees

to speak and answer questions about their experience. The students reacted

positively to this activity and expressed interest in knowing how life in South
