                                         ACADEMIC PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT

                                         & REVIEW (APDRC)

The Academic Program Development & Review Committee
(APDRC) is responsible for reviewing the curriculum for
relevance, purposiveness, and alignment with the Oman
Academic Standards (OAS) learning outcomes. The APDRC
also monitors and reviews the Foundation Program's
operational plan. Within the operational plan, the APDRC

looks at and evaluates the long-term goals and strategies of
the Foundation Program through ongoing surveys and
                                         reports completed for key objectives.

    EXAMINATION

The FP's Examination Committee is responsible for the
general supervision of examinations and all of the roles and
responsibilities of exam invigilators. For the current shift
online, exams are now Moodle-based and take full advantage

of the platform’s features. Reading and Listening exams
feature time limits, randomized answers, and clear learning
outcome testing. Students upload Writing exams to Moodle as
Word documents, which are checked for plagiarism and
double-blind graded according to rubrics that reflect both
Oman Academic Standards and IELTS specifications.

                                         REGISTRATION

For each new term, the Registration Committee is tasked with
ensuring a smooth, effective registration process for timely
enrollment of students. Part of this includes the

dissemination of announcements pertaining to registration
and general administration. This year, they successfully
shifted most registration for returning students online and
handled new students themselves. In total, 904 students were
enrolled for the 2020/21 Term 1 with 686 in Level 1, 25 in
Level 2, 125 in Level 3. The Law/Social Work group also

enrolled 61 students and 7 students in Arabic.
