A SHORT STORY BY:
AMEENA AL-MASHANI/FP
nce upon a time, there was a girl called Noor. She hated English and
Oconsidered learning it impossible and that it is limited to certain people as
many of our young people unfortunately believe. She used to have other people
do her English homework. Noor had a school duty which required borrowing a
book in English and summarizing it at home. Her homework helper was busy and
no one could help her do the homework. Noor contacted one of her classmates
to come and help her. Her friend had a lot to do herself. She agreed to come
anyways. Noor came out of the house and sat in the garden. She was upset and
worried about her homework. While sitting, she heard footsteps beside her as
her friend Mona approached and called: “Noor, I will not do your homework for
you, but we will look for a solution to your problem.”
“What !!” responded to Noor with all exclamation.” What problem are you
talking about?”
Mona laughed and said: “Do you think I do not know what your problem with
the English language is?”
Noor was silent thinking, "What do you mean?”
- “Oh my God!” Mona said “Let’s go to Uncle Ahmed, he certainly has a solution
to your problem.”
- “Who is Uncle Ahmed?”
- Mona replied with amazement: “’Don’t you not know who is Uncle Ahmed is?
This is the reason you have many problems”
So they go to Uncle Ahmed.
